The car

An Audi Q2 S line in Ara Blue, the 35 TFSI petrol, sitting on upgraded black alloys and looking every bit as sharp as the day it left the showroom. A returning customer, someone we had dealt with before, brought it back to us to sell. It carried full service history, the mileage was very low for its age, and there was honestly very little to put right before it changed hands.

Why we did not buy it ourselves

We buy a lot of cars, but we are honest about the ones where we are not the right home. A clean, low-mileage Audi Q2 with a full history is a car that sells well at retail. Our offer is a trade offer, made to leave room for the work and the risk we take on. On a car that needs almost no work and carries almost no risk, that trade offer was never going to be the strongest number this seller could get. Paying him less than the car could fetch, just to take the margin, is not how we want to deal with people who come back to us.

What we did instead
