Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about selling your car, scrap vehicles, payment, and collection across Hexham and the Tyne Valley.
Selling Your Car
Do you buy any car regardless of condition?
Yes. We buy cars in almost any condition across Hexham and the Tyne Valley - low mileage, high mileage, failed MOT, bodywork damage, non-runners and probate vehicles. If you're unsure, send us the details.
How quickly can you buy my car?
Most sales are completed within 24 to 48 hours. Send us your registration and a few photos, and we'll come back with a valuation the same day in most cases.
Do I need to bring my car to you?
No. We come to you. Free collection from your home or workplace across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. You don't need to go anywhere.
What details do you need to value my car?
Your registration number, current mileage, and a brief description of the car's condition. Photos help but aren't essential for an initial quote. You can start via our online valuation.
Will I get a fair price?
We review live market data, recent auction results, and the specific condition of your vehicle. Our valuations are transparent - we'll explain how we've arrived at the figure and there's never any obligation.
Can you buy a car that's on finance?
Yes, in many cases. We'll check the outstanding finance, settle it directly with the lender, and pay you the difference. We handle the paperwork so you don't have to.
Scrap Cars
Do you buy scrap cars?
Yes. We buy scrap and end-of-life vehicles across Hexham and Northumberland. Whether it's a non-runner, SORN, or failed its MOT, we'll make you an offer. See our scrap car page for details.
How much is my scrap car worth?
It depends on the vehicle's weight, make, model, and current scrap metal prices. We always aim to beat or match online scrap quotes - and we collect for free.
Do you issue a Certificate of Destruction?
Yes. When a vehicle is scrapped, you'll receive a Certificate of Destruction (CoD) confirming it has been disposed of legally and responsibly through an Authorised Treatment Facility.
Can you collect a scrap car that doesn't start?
Absolutely. We collect non-runners, cars with flat batteries, mechanical failures, and vehicles that haven't moved in years. Free collection is included.
Payment & Paperwork
How do you pay?
Bank transfer on collection, straight to your account. The money is typically in your account the same day. If you need a different arrangement, just let us know.
What paperwork do I need?
Ideally your V5C (logbook), but we can work with you if it's been lost. We'll also need photo ID and proof of address. We handle the DVLA notification for you.
Do you charge any fees?
No. There are no admin fees, collection fees, or hidden charges of any kind. The price we agree is the price you receive.
Will you notify the DVLA?
Yes. We complete the V5C/3 (yellow slip) and notify the DVLA on your behalf, so the vehicle is no longer registered in your name.
Collection & Areas
Is collection really free?
Yes - free collection from your home or workplace across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. Surrounding areas and villages by arrangement.
Where do you cover?
We cover Hexham, Corbridge, Riding Mill, Stocksfield, Prudhoe, Haydon Bridge, Allendale, Bellingham, Haltwhistle, and the wider Tyne Valley. Further afield by arrangement. See our full coverage area.
Can you collect at weekends or evenings?
Yes. We understand not everyone is free during working hours. We'll arrange a collection time that suits you, including evenings and weekends where possible.
How long does collection take?
Usually around 15 to 20 minutes. We inspect the vehicle, complete the paperwork, transfer the payment, and you're done.
