2010 Mini Cooper D - collected in Hexham
The owner of this 2010 Mini Cooper D emailed us on a Wednesday afternoon. A new car already sorted, the Mini parked outside their workplace in Hexham, a holiday booked and no V5 to hand. By half past eight the next morning it was on our truck.

An email on a Wednesday afternoon
The message was about as clear as they come. A Mini Cooper D on high miles, 196,000 of them, a bit of corrosion in the driver's door, recently serviced, MOT until March 2027 and running well. The owner had a new car already, the Mini was parked outside their workplace in Hexham, and a holiday was booked. They wanted it sorted before they went.
The complication was the logbook. The V5 could not be found, so the keeper had sent a V62 off to the DVLA for a replacement, which can take a couple of weeks to come through. Nobody wants their old car sitting in the work car park for a couple of weeks.

We checked photo ID, a driving licence or passport is fine, and did the deal as normal. The paperwork and DVLA side will be finished off once the replacement V5 arrives. It is a situation we see regularly and it is almost never the dealbreaker sellers fear it is.

The seller suggested meeting at their workplace on the Bridge End Industrial Estate before the holiday. We were there at half past eight the following morning, looked the car over, agreed the deal and loaded the Mini onto our truck. From first email to collection was under eighteen hours.
