2007 Ford Fusion Zetec Climate - collected in Bellingham
Proper non-runner, this one. A 2007 Ford Fusion Zetec Climate with a snapped rear axle: the car literally couldn't move under its own power. Classic "nobody else wants to know" call-out. We winched it on, paid on the driveway, and had the V5C handled before tea.
If you've ever seen a snapped rear axle in person, it's the kind of fault that instantly tells you the car is done as a runner. Ford Fusions are sweet little cars to drive when they're healthy. This one wasn't going anywhere.
The seller had rung around. National buyers want a running car. Some of the scrap yards will take it but only off the back of a trailer you've paid to hire. The local option was us.
We turned up with the transporter and a winch. Cable on, walked it up the ramp, strapped down. The photo we've got of the snapped axle is on this page: that's what we mean when we say non-runner and MOT fail cars are genuinely fine. We see this stuff most weeks.
V5C signed on the kitchen table, DVLA notified, paper receipt left on the worktop. The Fusion went back with us. The seller had their drive back.
Non-runner, mechanical failure, MOT fail, seized engine, dead battery, SORN, "it's making a funny noise and I don't trust it to reach Newcastle", all routine. See the full list, or go straight to a free valuation.
