1973 Morris Marina 1.8 TC - collected in Alston

This rare Morris Marina 1.8 TC, the twin-carburettor version that shared its engine with the MGB, was on its way to a classic specialist for carburettor and brake work to get it running and driving as it should again.

Not everything that goes on the back of our truck is a car we're buying or selling. This one's a proper slice of 1970s Britain: a Morris Marina 1.8 TC, the twin-carburettor version that ran the same 1.8 B-series engine as the MGB. On an early L-plate and finished in bright orange, it's a genuinely rare survivor these days. Most Marinas were run into the ground and scrapped long ago, and the sporty twin-carb TC is the one people actually seek out now.
What it went in for
We ran it over to a classic specialist to have the twin SU carbs set up properly, the brakes overhauled, and to get it running and driving as it should again. Those old SU carburettors take a knowing hand to balance, and there aren't many places left round here that still take on this kind of work. The one we use is about the only place in the area that really specialises in older cars like this.
