2007 Nissan X-Trail Columbia DCi - collected in Allendale
Called out to a Nissan X-Trail Columbia DCi that had been sitting long enough for the battery to go flat. Rural Allendale address, not the sort of job a branch-based buyer turns up for. We jumped it, drove it onto the transporter, and had the paperwork done at the kitchen table before the kettle had boiled twice.
Allendale is maybe a 25-minute drive out of Hexham, properly rural, the kind of address where a "drive to our branch" request from a national buyer is a non-starter. The X-Trail had been sat for a few months after the previous keeper stopped using it. Battery flat. Starts on a jump, so not technically a non-runner, but near enough that no-one in a hurry would touch it.
We turned up with a jump pack and the transporter in case. Jump pack did the job first time. Silver, diesel, manual 6-speed: a proper X-Trail Columbia DCi from the generation a lot of rural Northumberland still runs, because they're indestructible, they'll tow a trailer, and they cope with snow that actually is snow.
Drove it onto the transporter, went back inside, signed the V5C new keeper section at the kitchen table, notified the DVLA there and then on the phone, and left a signed paper receipt. Payment cleared before we'd left the drive.
If your car has been sitting, flat battery, SORN, "I'm not sure if it'll start", it makes zero difference to us. We buy problem cars routinely and we winch if we need to. No jump-pack surcharge, no "specialist collection" fee, no "we'll come back when it's running" runaround.
