2008 Peugeot 107 Urban - collected in Bardon Mill

A 2008 Peugeot 107 Urban on 112,000 miles, run from Bardon Mill since 2020. Past the point where another MOT was worth it, sold and collected the same day with nothing for the owner to spend.

A 58-plate Peugeot 107 Urban, silver, three doors, NJ58 XDZ, on 112,000 miles. The owner had run it from Bardon Mill in the South Tyne valley since 2020. It was the kind of small car that just gets on with it: twenty pounds a year road tax, cheap to insure, a fresh set of tyres, and not much else asked of it in six years.

He was moving up to a bigger car, a Vauxhall Insignia, so the 107 had done its job. When we looked the car over, it was at the point where another MOT was not worth the money on a car of that age and value. That is a common crossroads: spend on the test and the repairs to sell it, or take a fair price as it stands. He was happy to part with it as it was.

So that is what we did. We agreed a price, collected it from Bardon Mill, and he did not spend a penny getting it through a test just to move it on. The money went toward the Insignia and we took the 107 away the same day.

He paid £1,400 for it back in 2020. Six years of twenty-pound tax and steady running later, that was a brilliant buy for him, and it still had value to us at the end of it.

This is exactly the kind of car some buyers will not touch: an older small car on high miles, past the point where an MOT makes economic sense. We buy them, and you do not have to spend money on a car just to sell it to us.
