Selling your Hyundai in Hexham and the Tyne Valley

Hyundai has shifted from "value brand" to genuinely premium-feeling cars and the values reflect that now. Tucson and Kona are the SUVs we see most. i10 city cars from older drivers are common across NE46. The 5-year warranty is a real selling point and we factor remaining warranty into the price.

What we buy on the Hyundai range

  • Every model and trim - i10, i20, i30, Tucson, Kona
  • Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
  • Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
  • Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
  • Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork

How we value a Hyundai

Remaining manufacturer warranty is worth real money on Hyundais, a 2022 Tucson with 3 years of warranty left fetches meaningfully more than an older one with no warranty. Trim levels (SE Connect, Premium, Ultimate, N Line, N Line S) make a real difference. Hybrid and PHEV variants on Tucson hold up best.

Common Hyundai condition issues we see

Newer Hyundais are pretty trouble-free. Tucson 1.6 CRDi diesel DPF on short trips is occasional. Older i30 1.6 CRDi has had EGR issues. iX35 (older) brake pad/disc wear is rapid in our experience. Otherwise reliability is genuinely strong.

Hyundai demand and current market

Tucson Hybrid and Tucson PHEV demand is very high right now. Kona electric (full EV) sells fast. i10 retail is steady. i30 N hot hatch sells to enthusiasts at premium money. Santa Fe big-family SUV solid retail.

Five-year warranty cars are particularly desirable - we pay premium prices for recent Hyundais.

The Hyundai market in 2026: warranty as a value lever, and the move upmarket

Hyundai has shifted from a value badge to genuinely premium-feeling cars, and the values reflect that now. The single most important lever, after age and mileage, is remaining manufacturer warranty: Hyundai runs a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty that transfers to the next owner, so a 2022 Tucson with three years left fetches meaningfully more than an older one with none. Trim matters too, with SE Connect, Premium, Ultimate, N Line and N Line S all pricing differently, and the hybrid and plug-in variants holding up best. The newer cars are genuinely trouble-free; the things we check are the CRDi diesel DPF on short trips and, on the electrified cars, battery and charging history. We price the actual car, including any remaining warranty.

Hyundai Tucson

The Tucson is the SUV we see most, and demand for the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid is very high right now. The 2015-2020 car and the sharper 2020-onwards model price differently, and trim plus remaining warranty do most of the work. The 1.6 CRDi diesel has the usual short-trip DPF question and the petrol and hybrid units are strong. A well-specced Tucson with warranty left gets a strong figure and we buy them readily.

Hyundai Kona

The Kona (2017-2023, 2023 onwards) comes as petrol, hybrid and full electric, and the Kona Electric in particular sells fast. On the EV we factor battery health, charging history and any outstanding recall work; on the petrol and hybrid the cars are dependable and spec-led. Remaining warranty again carries real money. We price the drivetrain and the actual condition rather than a blanket model figure.

Hyundai i10 and i20

The i10 city car is common across NE46, often from older drivers, and it is a steady, easy retail car. The i20 supermini follows the same pattern. These are dependable small petrols where trim, history and remaining warranty set the figure, and a tidy one with a clean MOT record finds a buyer quickly. We value the actual car, not the badge.

Hyundai i30 and Santa Fe

The i30 hatchback is a solid retail car and the i30 N hot hatch sells to enthusiasts at premium money. The older i30 1.6 CRDi had EGR issues we know about and price in. The Santa Fe is the big-family seven-seat SUV, solid retail in good spec and often four-wheel drive to suit the roads round here. We read the trim and engine and price each properly.

Older Hyundais and the workhorses

Not every Hyundai is a modern crossover. The older iX35 (2010-2015) is a dependable SUV where rapid brake pad and disc wear is the usual item we factor, and the genuine workhorses still earn their keep round here. See our Haydon Bridge Terracan case study, an older body-on-frame 4x4 bought as a towing and agricultural workhorse, for how we value a car on what it actually does rather than what a screen says it is worth.

How we work with Hyundai sellers in Hexham

Send the registration, the mileage and a couple of photos. We price remaining warranty properly, factor the known issues honestly (CRDi DPF on short trips, older i30 EGR, iX35 brake wear, EV battery and recall history), and tell you what your Hyundai is genuinely worth at trade right now. A failed MOT or an off-the-road car is no barrier; we collect on the transporter.

Common questions

Does remaining Hyundai warranty increase what you pay?
Yes, meaningfully. Hyundai runs a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty that transfers to the next owner, so a newer car with two or three years left is worth notably more than an older one with none. Tell us the registration date and we factor the remaining cover into the figure.
Will you buy a Hyundai CRDi diesel with a DPF or older i30 EGR question?
Yes. DPF clogging on short-run CRDi diesels and the older i30 1.6 CRDi EGR issue are both things we know and price in. A diesel that needs a DPF clean or has an EGR fault is still a buy; we factor the work honestly.
Do you buy a Hyundai hybrid or electric Kona, Tucson or Ioniq?
Yes. On the hybrid and full-electric cars we factor battery health, charging history and any outstanding recall work, then price the car properly. A clean, healthy electrified Hyundai is in strong demand and we buy them readily.
Do you collect a Hyundai that will not start or is off the road?
Yes. We bring a transporter and winch across Hexham and the Tyne Valley, so a Hyundai with a flat battery, an expired MOT or a non-running engine is no barrier. You do not need to get it running for the sale.
How much is my Hyundai worth in Hexham?
We value every Hyundai individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history, and your car's specific condition. There is no generic figure because spec, mileage, history and condition move it a lot. Enter your reg to get an exact, honest valuation in under 2 minutes.
Do you buy Hyundai cars with failed MOT or faults?
Yes - we buy Hyundai cars in any condition. Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, bodywork damage, non-runners. Tell us what's wrong and we'll factor it in fairly.
How quickly can you collect my Hyundai?
Usually within 24 hours across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. We come to your home or workplace, handle all the paperwork, and pay by instant bank transfer on collection.
How do you decide what to pay for a Hyundai?
We value each Hyundai individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history and the car's specific condition, not a generic algorithm. We're a local business with lower overheads. Enter your reg for a firm figure, and it's always worth getting a couple of quotes to compare.
