Selling your Nissan in Hexham and the Tyne Valley

Qashqai is the UK's best-selling SUV and a quarter of our SUV intake is Qashqai. Followed by Juke, then X-Trail, with the occasional Micra or Note. Nissan EVs (Leaf 24kWh and 30kWh older models particularly) come to us regularly from sellers who want to upgrade to longer range.

What we buy on the Nissan range

  • Every model and trim - Micra, Juke, Qashqai, X-Trail, Leaf
  • Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
  • Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
  • Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
  • Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork

How we value a Nissan

Qashqai trim makes a real difference: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, Tekna+. Tekna with the panoramic roof and 360 camera is worth meaningfully more than Acenta same age. Juke also varies, Tekna+ vs Visia is a meaningful spread. CVT vs manual on Qashqai 1.2 DIG-T affects buyer profile.

Common Nissan condition issues we see

Qashqai/Juke 1.2 DIG-T timing chain on cold start is the one we ask about, known issue. CVT auto judder and shudder on Qashqai is a real problem and we factor it in. Leaf battery health (number of bars showing on the dash) directly affects the figure. We ask for a photo.

Nissan demand and current market

Qashqai petrol is one of the fastest-moving cars in the trade. We always have a buyer. Juke similar. X-Trail 4WD slower but steady. Leaf older models in trade-only territory unless battery is healthy. Micra and Note slow retail, usually trade.

Petrol, diesel or EV (Leaf) - every Nissan gets a quick, honest valuation.

How the process works

Enter your registration in the wizard above. We pull DVLA and MOT data automatically, add the mileage and a couple of condition details, and come back with a human-reviewed offer, usually same day. If you accept, we agree a collection slot, arrive, settle by instant bank transfer, take the V5C and photo ID, and notify DVLA before we leave.

The Nissan market in 2026: trim, the CVT question and Leaf battery bars

Nissan is SUV-led for us, with the Qashqai alone making up a large share of our SUV intake, followed by Juke and X-Trail. Three things move the figure once age and mileage are set. First, trim: Visia, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+ are meaningfully different prices, and a Tekna with the panoramic roof and 360 camera is worth well more than an Acenta of the same age. Second, the gearbox: the Xtronic CVT can judder or shudder and that is a real factor we price in. Third, on the Leaf, the battery health shown as bars on the dashboard directly sets the figure. On petrol the 1.2 DIG-T timing chain is the cold-start question we always ask. We price the actual car, faults and all.

Nissan Qashqai

The Qashqai (J10 2007-2013, J11 2014-2021, J12 2021 onwards) is one of the fastest-moving cars in the trade and we always have a buyer. Petrol examples move quickest. Trim does most of the pricing work, and the 1.2 and 1.3 DIG-T petrols and the dCi diesels each have their own checklist: the 1.2 DIG-T timing chain on cold start, the CVT judder on the automatics, the DPF on the diesels. None of it stops us buying; it sets the number.

Nissan Juke

The Juke (F15 2010-2019, F16 2019 onwards) follows the Qashqai pattern, with Tekna+ a meaningful step up from Visia. The first-generation cars with the 1.2 and 1.6 DIG-T are now value buys, and the second-generation car is a sharper, more grown-up proposition. We read the trim from the build data and price the actual spec, and the cold-start chain and CVT questions are priced in honestly.

Nissan X-Trail

The X-Trail (T32 2014-2022, T33 2022 onwards) is the larger family SUV, often four-wheel drive and often seven-seat, and demand is steady. See our Allendale X-Trail case study for how we collected a car that would not start on a flat battery, the kind of fault a screen-based valuation cannot read. Spec, drivetrain and seat configuration all move the figure and we account for each.

Nissan Leaf

The Leaf is the EV we see most, and on a Leaf the battery health is the single biggest valuation lever. The older 24kWh and 30kWh cars have no active battery cooling, so degradation matters and the bar count on the dashboard tells the story; the later 40kWh and 62kWh e+ cars hold up better. We ask for a photo of the battery-health display and price accordingly. A healthy Leaf retails well; a tired-battery car is trade, and we are honest about which yours is.

Nissan Micra, Note and Navara

The Micra and Note are slower retail and usually trade, but we still make a fair, honest offer and always have an outlet. The Navara pickup is a different market again, with the well-known chassis-corrosion question on certain years that we check carefully and price in. Whatever the model, we value the actual car on its condition and history rather than the badge.

How we work with Nissan sellers in Hexham

Send the registration, the mileage and a couple of photos, plus the battery-health display if it is a Leaf. We price the trim, the gearbox and the known issues honestly (1.2 DIG-T chain, Xtronic CVT, Leaf battery bars, Navara chassis), and tell you what your Nissan is genuinely worth at trade right now. A failed MOT, a flat battery or an off-the-road car are all things we deal with every week.

Common questions

Will you buy a Nissan with the 1.2 DIG-T timing chain rattle?
Yes. The 1.2 DIG-T cold-start timing-chain rattle on the Qashqai and Juke is a known issue and we ask about it up front. A car with the rattle is still a buy; we factor the work into a fair figure rather than walking away.
Do you buy a Qashqai or Juke with CVT gearbox judder?
Yes. The Xtronic CVT automatic can judder or shudder and it is a real factor we price in, not a reason to refuse the car. Tell us how it behaves and we account for it in the offer on the actual car.
How does Nissan Leaf battery health affect what you pay?
Directly. On the Leaf the battery health, shown as bars on the dashboard, is the single biggest valuation lever, because the older 24kWh and 30kWh cars have no active cooling. Send us a photo of the battery-health display and we price it honestly. A healthy car retails well; a tired-battery one is trade, and we tell you which yours is.
Do you collect a Nissan that will not start or is off the road?
Yes. We bring a transporter and winch across Hexham and the Tyne Valley, so a Nissan with a flat battery, an expired MOT or a non-running engine is no barrier. You do not need to get it running for the sale.
How much is my Nissan worth in Hexham?
We value every Nissan individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history, and your car's specific condition. There is no generic figure because spec, mileage, history and condition move it a lot. Enter your reg to get an exact, honest valuation in under 2 minutes.
Do you buy Nissan cars with failed MOT or faults?
Yes - we buy Nissan cars in any condition. Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, bodywork damage, non-runners. Tell us what's wrong and we'll factor it in fairly.
How quickly can you collect my Nissan?
Usually within 24 hours across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. We come to your home or workplace, handle all the paperwork, and pay by instant bank transfer on collection.
How do you decide what to pay for a Nissan?
We value each Nissan individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history and the car's specific condition, not a generic algorithm. We're a local business with lower overheads. Enter your reg for a firm figure, and it's always worth getting a couple of quotes to compare.
