Selling your Mercedes-Benz in Hexham and the Tyne Valley

Mercedes-Benz comes through us in two flavours, proper old-school E-Class W211 and W212 saloons coming out of long ownership, and modern A-Class hatchbacks being downsized into. AMG-line spec on the modern stuff makes a real difference and we pay attention to it.

What we buy on the Mercedes-Benz range

  • Every model and trim - A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLA, GLC
  • Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
  • Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
  • Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
  • Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork

How we value a Mercedes-Benz

AMG-line vs Sport vs SE, COMAND nav, panoramic roof, full leather, premium plus pack, these matter. A-Class AMG Line Premium Plus is worth materially more than an A-Class Sport at the same age. C-Class AMG-line saloons have stronger demand than estate variants. GLA and GLC vs GLA AMG line need separating in the valuation.

Common Mercedes-Benz condition issues we see

Older OM651 diesels (E-Class, C-Class) have known injector and balance-shaft issues, high-mileage examples need careful pricing. 7G-Tronic gearbox conductor plate failure shows as harsh shifts; we ask about it. AdBlue light ignored is a common fault we run into, fixable but priced in.

Mercedes-Benz demand and current market

A-Class and CLA hatchback Mercedes are easy retail, heavy demand from younger buyers wanting the badge. C-Class saloon AMG-line is in good demand. E-Class and S-Class older diesel are slower, usually trade. GLA and GLC are strong. AMG models case-by-case.

AMG or standard, saloon or SUV - we handle all Mercedes valuations personally.

Selling a Mercedes-Benz with an issue in the Tyne Valley

A lot of the Mercedes we take across the Tyne Valley come out of long ownership, older E-Class saloons and estates, sometimes off the road entirely. We collected an E350 estate near Riding Mill that had been sat with no MOT. We are local, the owner appraises every one in person, and whether yours is high mileage, off the road, or carrying a known injector or gearbox issue, we buy it as it stands.

How the process works

Enter your registration in the wizard above. We pull DVLA and MOT data automatically, add the mileage and a couple of condition details, and come back with a human-reviewed offer, usually same day. If you accept, we agree a collection slot, arrive, settle by instant bank transfer, take the V5C and photo ID, and notify DVLA before we leave.

The Mercedes-Benz market in 2026: engine family and AMG Line spec set the figure

Mercedes valuations turn on two things once age and mileage are accounted for: the engine family and whether the car is AMG Line. On diesel, the OM651 2.1 four-cylinder (in the W204 C-Class and W212 E-Class) has the documented injector, balance-shaft and timing-chain history the trade knows well, while the OM642 3.0 V6 diesel in the older E350 and larger cars has its own swirl-flap and oil-cooler-seal checklist, and the newer OM654 tightened both up. On petrol, the older M271 1.8 had a timing-chain and balance-shaft issue, while the M274 and M270 2.0 turbos are more robust. Then the gearbox: the 7G-Tronic conductor plate can show as harsh or delayed shifts, all of it priceable. AMG Line versus Sport versus SE makes a real difference to the figure and we pay close attention to it.

Mercedes A-Class and CLA

The A-Class (W176 and W177) and the CLA are the easy-retail Mercedes, with heavy demand from younger buyers wanting the badge. AMG Line and the Premium and Premium Plus packs carry real money: an A-Class AMG Line Premium Plus is worth materially more than an A-Class Sport at the same age. We buy them across the range, including cars coming out of an estate or a probate sale. See our Gosforth A-Class case study for how we handle a sensitive probate collection, with the paperwork managed properly and the car collected on the transporter.

Mercedes C-Class

The C-Class (W204, W205 and W206) splits between the AMG Line saloons, which hold stronger demand, and the estates. Spec is everything: COMAND navigation, the panoramic roof, full leather, the Premium packs and the AMG Line styling all move the figure. The OM651 diesel C-Class needs careful pricing on the injectors and the balance shaft at higher mileage; the petrol C-Class is generally the easier proposition. We price each on its actual specification, not a model-line average.

Mercedes E-Class and S-Class

The E-Class is where we see a lot of long ownership: W211 and W212 saloons and estates coming out of years with one keeper, sometimes off the road entirely. The older OM642 V6 diesel and the OM651 four-cylinder both have their known issues and both are priceable. See our E350 estate case study from near Riding Mill, a re-imported car that had been sat with no MOT, for how we handle an import V5C and a car that has not turned a wheel in a while. The S-Class and the older big diesels are usually trade rather than forecourt, and we value those against live auction comparisons.

Mercedes GLA, GLC and the SUVs

The GLA (X156 and H247) and the GLC (X253) are strong family-SUV sellers, and the AMG Line versions need separating from the standard cars in the valuation because the spread is real. 4MATIC all-wheel drive matters in Northumberland and adds to the figure. As with the saloons, panoramic roof, full leather, the Premium packs and the larger alloys all carry weight, and we price the actual build rather than the badge.

Mercedes-AMG

The full AMG cars (A45, C63, E63 and the rest) are specialist trade. We value them case-by-case against live specialist and auction data, and on the right car we will connect you with a dedicated performance buyer rather than buy direct, but only when that nets you more than we can pay in-house. Service history and originality matter heavily on these, and a known fault does not put us off, it just sets the number.

How we work with Mercedes sellers in Hexham

Send the registration, the mileage and a couple of photos. We read the spec, price the engine family and the known issues honestly (OM651 injectors, OM642 swirl flaps, 7G-Tronic conductor plate, an ignored AdBlue light), and tell you what your Mercedes is genuinely worth at trade right now. High mileage, off the road, no service history or a re-imported V5C are all things we buy around every week.

Common questions

Will you buy a Mercedes with no service history?
Yes. We buy Mercedes-Benz cars with no service book, with patchy history, or with main-dealer history alone. No history doesn't kill a deal, it just changes the figure. We factor it in fairly rather than walking away. Re-imported Mercs from Germany or other EU countries also fine; the V5C reissued on import is enough paperwork for us.
Do you buy older OM651 diesel E-Class or C-Class with known injector issues?
Yes. The OM651 (2.1 diesel in W212 E-Class and W204 C-Class) had injector and balance-shaft issues from new, we know it, and we price it in. Tell us whether the injectors have been done and we factor the work into the offer. We never refuse a Mercedes for OM651 history alone.
What about Mercedes with an MOT that's lapsed for years?
Common on garage-stored or recently-imported cars. We buy them as-is. The car doesn't need to be MOT-valid for us to collect on the transporter, and the trade specialist we pass it to handles recommissioning. Don't put it through an MOT just for us.
Do you handle Mercedes with outstanding finance?
Yes. Send us the finance settlement figure and we deal with the lender directly on collection. The settlement gets paid first and any equity transfers to you on the day. No need to settle the finance separately before selling.
How much is my Mercedes-Benz worth in Hexham?
We value every Mercedes-Benz individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history, and your car's specific condition. There is no generic figure because spec, mileage, history and condition move it a lot. Enter your reg to get an exact, honest valuation in under 2 minutes.
Do you buy Mercedes-Benz cars with failed MOT or faults?
Yes - we buy Mercedes-Benz cars in any condition. Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, bodywork damage, non-runners. Tell us what's wrong and we'll factor it in fairly.
How quickly can you collect my Mercedes-Benz?
Usually within 24 hours across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. We come to your home or workplace, handle all the paperwork, and pay by instant bank transfer on collection.
How do you decide what to pay for a Mercedes-Benz?
We value each Mercedes-Benz individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history and the car's specific condition, not a generic algorithm. We're a local business with lower overheads. Enter your reg for a firm figure, and it's always worth getting a couple of quotes to compare.
