Selling your Kia in Hexham and the Tyne Valley
Kia has come a long way and the 7-year warranty is a serious draw for buyers, which means we can pay strongly for newer ones. Sportage SUVs are the most common Kia we see. Picantos from new drivers and elderly drivers. Niros (hybrid and EV) from families who've gone electric.
What we buy on the Kia range
- Every model and trim - Picanto, Ceed, Sportage, Niro, EV6
- Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
- Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
- Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
- Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork
How we value a Kia
Remaining 7-year warranty is the single biggest value lever on a Kia, a 2022 Sportage with 4 years of warranty left can be worth notably more than a non-warranty one. Trim levels (1, 2, 3, 4, GT-Line, GT-Line S) really matter. Hybrid Sportage HEV and PHEV variants strong values.
Common Kia condition issues we see
Newer Kias are trouble-free. Sportage 1.7 CRDi diesel DPF is the usual short-trip issue. Older Picantos have hit-and-miss build quality from the early 2010s. We look at it carefully. Niro hybrid battery is reliable.
Kia demand and current market
Sportage Hybrid and PHEV are red-hot. We buy and sell them weekly. EV6 sells to EV enthusiasts at premium money. Niro EV strong demand. Picanto retail is steady. Stonic and XCeed slower but fair offers.

The Kia market in 2026: the seven-year warranty does the heavy lifting
Kia has come a long way and the seven-year warranty is the single biggest value lever on the brand, because it transfers to the next owner: a 2022 Sportage with four years of cover left can be worth notably more than an otherwise identical car with none. After that it is trim and drivetrain. The 1, 2, 3, 4, GT-Line and GT-Line S trims genuinely matter, and the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid variants carry the strongest values right now. The newer cars are trouble-free; the things we check are the CRDi diesel DPF on short trips and, on the electrified cars, battery health. We price the actual car, including whatever warranty is left to run.
Kia Sportage
The Sportage is the most common Kia we see and the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid are red-hot, bought and sold weekly. The 2010-2015, 2016-2021 and 2021-onwards generations price differently, and trim plus remaining warranty do most of the work. The 1.6 and 1.7 CRDi diesels have the usual short-trip DPF question and the petrol and hybrid units are strong. A well-specced Sportage with warranty left gets a strong figure.
Kia Picanto
The Picanto is the city-car staple, bought by new drivers and older drivers alike, and retail is steady and dependable. The 2011-2017 and 2017-onwards cars are simple, economical petrols where trim, history and remaining warranty set the figure. See our Haltwhistle Picanto case study for how we handled a first-car sale, valuing the actual car on its condition and history.
Kia Niro (hybrid and EV)
The Niro comes as Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and full electric, and demand across all three is strong, with the Niro EV particularly sought after. The hybrid battery is reliable, and on the EV we factor battery health and charging history. The 2016-2022 and 2022-onwards cars price differently, and spec plus remaining warranty carry real money. We value the drivetrain and condition on each.
Kia Ceed and the rest
The Ceed hatchback, the ProCeed and the XCeed crossover are steady retail cars, with the Rio supermini, the Stonic crossover, the Sorento seven-seat SUV and the older Venga and Optima all coming through the door. Trim, engine and remaining warranty do the pricing work. The Stonic and XCeed are slower than the Sportage but still get fair, honest offers. We price the actual car, not the badge.
Kia EV6 and the electric Kias
The EV6 is the standout electric Kia and sells to EV enthusiasts at premium money, with the Soul EV and Niro EV also in strong demand. On every electric Kia we factor battery health, charging history and any outstanding recall work, then price properly. A clean, healthy Kia EV with warranty left is exactly the car the trade wants and we value them carefully against live data.
How we work with Kia sellers in Hexham
Send the registration, the mileage and a couple of photos. We price remaining warranty properly, factor the known issues honestly (CRDi DPF on short trips, EV battery and recall history), and tell you what your Kia is genuinely worth at trade right now. A failed MOT or an off-the-road car is no barrier; we collect on the transporter.
