Selling your Honda in Hexham and the Tyne Valley
Hondas are owner cars, people who bought them new and ran them for 10+ years. Jazz from older drivers in Stocksfield and Riding Mill, Civic Type R hot hatches from enthusiasts, CR-Vs from families. They come to us with FSH and full receipts more often than any other brand.
What we buy on the Honda range
- Every model and trim - Jazz, Civic, CR-V, HR-V
- Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
- Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
- Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
- Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork
How we value a Honda
Trim levels on Honda are usually well-specced as standard so the spread is narrower. Jazz EX, Civic Sport, CR-V EX and SR, these add useful kit (sat-nav, leather, panoramic roof) and we pay accordingly. Manual vs CVT auto matters on Jazz and Civic, manual buyers are still out there.
Common Honda condition issues we see
Honda 1.5 VTEC Turbo on Civic and CR-V has had injector issues in some batches. We ask about service. Jazz IMA hybrid battery on the older 2009-2014 cars can fail; replacement is expensive so we need to factor it in if there's an issue. Otherwise reliability is genuinely strong and we don't need to deduct much.
Honda demand and current market
Jazz petrol manual is the easiest Honda to retail, older buyers love them. Civic 1.5 Turbo Sport in red is a fast mover. CR-V hybrid SUV strong demand. HR-V steady. Type R sells to enthusiasts at premium money. We know the buyers.
High mileage Civic or low mileage Jazz, we value every Honda fairly based on real data.

The Honda market in 2026: owner cars, full history, and the reliability premium
Hondas are owner cars. They come to us from people who bought them new and ran them for ten years or more, and they arrive with full service history and a folder of receipts more often than any other brand. That reliability is the whole point, and it shows in the strong figures we can offer. Trims are usually well-specced as standard so the spread is narrower than most makes, but the kit on EX, Sport and SR cars still counts. The two things we genuinely check are the 1.5 VTEC Turbo history on the Civic and CR-V, and hybrid battery health on the older Jazz. Manual versus CVT also matters, because manual buyers are still very much out there. We price the actual car on its condition and history.
Honda Jazz
The Jazz is the easiest Honda to retail, especially the petrol manual that older drivers love, and demand is steady and reliable. The 2008-2015 and 2015-2020 cars are conventional petrol; the 2020-onwards car is the e:HEV two-motor hybrid. The one thing to know is the older 2009-2014 IMA hybrid battery, which can fail and is expensive to replace, so we factor it only if there is an issue. Otherwise these are genuinely trouble-free and we do not need to deduct much.
Honda Civic
The Civic spans the FK (2012-2017), the 2017-2022 car and the FL (2022 onwards), in petrol, diesel and now e:HEV hybrid form. The 1.5 VTEC Turbo had a fuel-dilution issue that Honda addressed with a software update, plus injector concerns on some batches, so we ask about the service record. The 1.6 i-DTEC diesel is a genuinely strong, economical unit. See our Gosforth Civic diesel case study for how we valued one of these on its real history rather than a screen estimate.
Honda CR-V
The CR-V (2012-2018, 2018-2023, 2023 onwards) is a strong family SUV and the hybrid is in good demand. The 1.5 VTEC Turbo carries the same fuel-dilution and injector checklist as the Civic, and the older 1.6 i-DTEC diesel is the dependable alternative. Spec and history do most of the talking and four-wheel-drive examples suit the rural roads. We price the drivetrain and condition on each.
Honda HR-V and the rest
The HR-V (2015-2021, 2021 onwards e:HEV) is a steady compact-SUV retail car and the hybrid holds demand well. The Accord saloon, the older FR-V and the Honda e city car come through too. These are dependable cars that hold their money, and we value each on its actual spec, condition and history rather than the badge.
Honda Civic Type R
The Type R is a specialist enthusiast car and we know the buyers. The turbocharged FK2 and FK8 and the latest FL5, and the older naturally-aspirated EP3 and FN2, each have a dedicated audience and sell at premium money in good, original condition. We value these carefully against live specialist data, and on the right car we will connect you with a dedicated enthusiast buyer rather than buy direct, but only when that nets you more than we can pay in-house.
How we work with Honda sellers in Hexham
Send the registration, the mileage and a couple of photos. We price the known issues honestly (1.5 VTEC Turbo fuel-dilution and injectors, older Jazz IMA battery), account for trim and the manual-versus-CVT question, and tell you what your Honda is genuinely worth at trade right now. High mileage with a full history is exactly what we want on a Honda, and an off-the-road car is no barrier.
