Selling your Tesla in Hexham and the Tyne Valley

Tesla values move fast, sometimes weekly. We use live market data when valuing Teslas, not last quarter's book. Model 3 is the most common Tesla we see, then Model Y. Early Model S occasionally. Buyers care about battery health, software version, and any FSD or Enhanced Autopilot features included.

What we buy on the Tesla range

  • Every model and trim - Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X
  • Petrol, diesel, hybrid, electric - all powertrains
  • Manual and automatic, low mileage or 200k+
  • Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, non-runners
  • Outstanding finance, missing V5, SORN cars - we handle the paperwork

How we value a Tesla

Model 3 trim variants (Standard Range Plus, Long Range, Performance) are very different cars and prices. Same on Model Y. Battery health (kWh to capacity ratio) directly affects value. We ask for a recent screenshot of the energy stats. Pre-2021 cars without heat-pump heating are weaker in winter and priced down accordingly.

Common Tesla condition issues we see

Tesla mechanical issues are minimal but build quality on early production runs (panel gaps, paint defects) was inconsistent. We check on inspection. Older Model S with low battery degradation are still good cars but tyre wear and suspension bushes go quickly.

Tesla demand and current market

Model 3 Long Range strong retail demand. Model Y growing fast. Model S older case-by-case. Model X slower retail. Performance variants always sell fast at premium.

Model 3 and Model Y demand is high - we pay top prices and handle the paperwork quickly.

How the process works

Enter your registration in the wizard above. We pull DVLA and MOT data automatically, add the mileage and a couple of condition details, and come back with a human-reviewed offer, usually same day. If you accept, we agree a collection slot, arrive, settle by instant bank transfer, take the V5C and photo ID, and notify DVLA before we leave.

The Tesla market in 2026: range version, Autopilot tier and battery health

Tesla values move fast, sometimes weekly, so we use live market data when valuing them rather than a quarterly book. Three things move the figure. First, the range version: a Standard Range or rear-wheel-drive car, a Long Range and a Performance are very different cars and prices. Second, the Autopilot tier: a car with Enhanced Autopilot or Full Self-Driving capability on the account carries real money over a basic Autopilot car, and that capability transfers with the car. Third, battery health: the usable-capacity ratio directly sets the value, so we ask for a recent screenshot of the energy stats. Pre-2021 cars without the heat pump are weaker in winter and priced accordingly. We value the actual car against live data.

Tesla Model 3

The Model 3 is the most common Tesla we see, across the rear-wheel-drive, Long Range and Performance variants. The Long Range has the strongest retail demand. Later rear-wheel-drive cars use the lithium-iron-phosphate battery that can be charged to 100 percent routinely, which buyers value, and the heat pump on the post-2020 cars helps winter range. We price the variant, the battery health and the Autopilot tier on the actual car.

Tesla Model Y

The Model Y is growing fast as the SUV-bodied version of the Model 3, and demand is strong. The same logic applies: range version, battery health, Autopilot tier and heat-pump-era all matter. Spec details like the tow bar, the wheel size and the interior all carry weight. A clean Model Y with healthy battery and Long Range drivetrain gets a strong figure.

Tesla Model S and Model X

The Model S saloon and the falcon-door Model X are valued case-by-case, and the older cars need care. The pre-2018 cars with the first-generation media control unit can suffer the well-known eMMC memory failure that shows as a yellowing or blank screen, and tyre and suspension wear go quickly on the heavier S and X. A healthy older Model S with low battery degradation is still a genuinely good car, and the Performance variants always sell fast. We price the actual condition and battery.

Battery health, software and what we check

On every Tesla the three things we want to see are the battery health, the software and Autopilot status, and the build quality. Early production runs had inconsistent panel gaps and paint that we check on inspection, none of which stops us buying. We do not guess any of this from a registration; we ask for the energy-stats screenshot and the software details and price the real car, which is exactly why an in-person appraisal beats an online form on a fast-moving EV.

How to check your Tesla's battery health before you sell

A Tesla does not show a plain battery-health percentage on the main screen, so here is the honest way to gauge it. Charge the car to 100 percent and read the rated range it projects, then compare that against the original rated figure for your exact variant. A few percent lost over the first year or two, then the drop slowing right down, is completely normal and nothing to worry about. If you want it exact, a Tesla service centre or an independent EV diagnostic tool can pull the usable-capacity figure directly. When you send the reg and mileage, a recent photo of the energy screen and the projected range at a full charge tells us most of what we need, and we factor the real number honestly rather than guessing it from the plate.

The battery and drive unit warranty transfers with the car

Tesla's battery and drive unit warranty runs to eight years from the car's original delivery date, with a mileage cap that depends on the variant, and the balance stays with the car when you sell rather than expiring with the first owner. A Tesla still inside that cover is worth more to the next keeper, so it is worth telling us the delivery date and mileage. We factor whatever warranty is left to run into the figure.

Free Supercharging and connected features

A small number of older cars, mainly early Model S and some Model X, carry free Supercharging tied to the car's VIN that transfers to the next owner, and that is genuine money in the trade. Most later cars had any free or promotional Supercharging locked to the original owner's Tesla account, so it does not move with the car. Tell us what your car actually has and we will check it against the VIN. Full Self-Driving capability, Enhanced Autopilot and any premium connectivity on the car matter in the same way, and we account for all of it.

Handing your Tesla over

Before we collect, remove the car from your Tesla account and run a factory reset (in the car's Service menu) so your profiles, saved locations and phone keys are wiped, and have both key cards, the mobile connector and any charging cables ready to hand over. One practical thing worth knowing: every Tesla also runs a small low-voltage battery, 12 volts on most cars, that wakes the car and powers the door handles and screen. When it goes flat, which is the most common thing that stops an otherwise healthy Tesla that has sat for a while, the car may not unlock or power up. That is no barrier for us; we bring a transporter and winch across Hexham and the Tyne Valley and deal with it on collection.

How we work with Tesla sellers in Hexham

Send the registration, the mileage and a recent screenshot of the battery and energy stats, plus the Autopilot or Full Self-Driving status. We value against live market data, factor the range version and battery health honestly, and tell you what your Tesla is genuinely worth right now. A car that will not start or is off the road is no barrier; we collect on the transporter.

Common questions

How does battery health affect what you pay for my Tesla?
Directly. The usable-capacity ratio is one of the biggest value levers on a Tesla, so we ask for a recent screenshot of the energy stats rather than guessing. A healthy battery gets the strongest figure; some degradation is normal with age and we factor it honestly.
Does Full Self-Driving or Enhanced Autopilot add to the value?
Yes. Full Self-Driving capability or Enhanced Autopilot on the account carries real money over a basic Autopilot car, and that capability transfers with the car. Tell us exactly what is enabled and we factor it into the figure.
Will you buy an older Model S or Model X with a screen or MCU fault?
Yes. The pre-2018 cars with the first-generation media control unit can suffer the known eMMC memory failure that shows as a yellow or blank screen, and we price it in rather than walking away. A healthy older S or X with low battery degradation is still a genuinely good car to us.
Do you collect a Tesla that will not start or is off the road?
Yes. We bring a transporter and winch across Hexham and the Tyne Valley, so a Tesla that will not power up, is off the road or has an expired MOT is no barrier. You do not need to get it moving for the sale.
How much is my Tesla worth in Hexham?
We value every Tesla individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history, and your car's specific condition. There is no generic figure because spec, mileage, history and condition move it a lot. Enter your reg to get an exact, honest valuation in under 2 minutes.
Do you buy Tesla cars with failed MOT or faults?
Yes - we buy Tesla cars in any condition. Failed MOT, warning lights, mechanical faults, bodywork damage, non-runners. Tell us what's wrong and we'll factor it in fairly.
How quickly can you collect my Tesla?
Usually within 24 hours across Hexham and the Tyne Valley. We come to your home or workplace, handle all the paperwork, and pay by instant bank transfer on collection.
How do you decide what to pay for a Tesla?
We value each Tesla individually using live trade and retail data, MOT history and the car's specific condition, not a generic algorithm. We're a local business with lower overheads. Enter your reg for a firm figure, and it's always worth getting a couple of quotes to compare.
